In Season 1, Episode 2 "Purple Giraffe", Ted throws a party in hopes of seeing Robin again. Robin fails to show up and calls Ted to apologize and ask if he's throwing another party, so Ted throws another party the next night which Robin misses yet again. Robin apologizes again for missing another party due to work. Ted then throws a third party, and just when it seems like Robin no showed again she appears.
What doesn't make sense: If Ted wanted to see Robin again, why didn't he just call her and ask her out again? Obviously, Robin was into Ted to a degree otherwise she wouldn't have kept calling him every time she missed his parties to apologize and ask if he's throwing another party.
Also, why didn't Robin just send Ted a text message letting him know she wasn't going to make it?
At one point, Robin is doing a news report from a store where a kid had climbed into a claw machine trying to get a purple giraffe.
What doesn't make sense: Clearly, the child was around 3-4 years old and so large it's impossible that he could actually fit inside a claw machine.
