Star Trek Voyager Plot Holes

In Season 1 Episodes 1 and 2 "Caretaker", at the end of the episode Captain Janeway orders the destruction of the Caretaker's array in order to prevent the Kazon from stealing the technology. The downside is that upon destroying the array it also destroyed any chance of Voyager making it home and thus strands the crew 75,000 light years from home.

What doesn't make sense: why didn't they just beam over a photon torpedo with a timed detonation? This would allow Voyager enough time to use the array to sling them back to the Alpha quadrant while still destroying the array and escaping the Kazon.

  1. I agree lol I'm rewatching voyager, V ger lol, for some reason and same thought occurred to me. The biggest plot hole is how they fucked up the warp speed factor math so bad... a ship that could travel at 9.93 warp shouldn't take 75 years to travel across the galaxy.
