In Highlander Season 1 Episode 1, Duncan beheads Slan Quince on a city bridge as Richie watches from the shadows.
Plot Hole: The episode ends with Slan Quince's headless body and severed head left on a public bridge after a lightning storm which caused thousands of dollars in damage, but somehow no one notices.
After murdering Slan Quince, Duncan agrees with Connor that Richie will need watching. Apparently, Duncan just assumes that Richie won't report seeing Duncan murdering Slan, and that Richie will be ok and feel safe with being watched over by a murderer.
